Internal Medicine unit consists of:

  • 3 medical specialist
  • 14 Nurses in IPD
  • 2 nurses in NCD clinic
  • 1 nurse in ECHO
  • 1 nurse in ECG
  • 2 nurses in TB unit
  • 13 nurses in dialysis unit
  • 11 nurses in AICU

Services

      • Medicine Outpatient consultation on various medical conditions including non-communicable diseases, infectious diseases, etc.
      • AICU care
      • Patients with General Medical Conditions
      • Patients with mental Conditions including alcohol and substance use disorders
  • Management of PTB and EPTB cases
  • Management of MDR-TB
  • Registration of all TB cases
  • Following-up for the TB cases
  • Monitoring the TB cases
  • Reporting to National Tuberculosis Control Program (NTCP)
  • Screening for TB
  • Managing the anti-tuberculosis drugs
      • Anthropometric measurements
      • Diabetes diagnosis, monitoring and treatment options
      • Awareness campaigns and screenings in the community/ institutions in need based
      • Elderly people-screenings annually
      • Health education on preventive measures on NCD and interventions for people affected
      • Reporting and recording
  • Routine hemodialysis treatment in three shifts
  • AICU hemodialysis
  • Monitor RO system every shift
  • Admission of all the patient at HD coming for hemodialysis services
  • Attend Emergency Hemodialysis services 24×7
  • Health education to hemodialysis patient about diet, medication, hemodialysis schedule, psychological support
  • Register for AVF creation to those patients who fall on CKD stage 4 and 5 and give appointment date as per surgeon case load of surgery day
  • Monitor all newly created AV fistula patients
  • Monitor and initiate Hepatitis B vaccination and injection EPO
  • Blood transfusion during dialysis session
  • District Attachment training of post-graduate resident doctors and Intern doctors from KGUMSB
