Overview

Central Regional Referral Hospital

The Central Regional Referral Hospital is the public hospital located at Gelephu, Sarpang, Bhutan. The Central Regional Referral Hospital (CRRH) has 150 beds with specialty services in Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Ophthalmology, ENT Surgery, Dental Surgery and Bhutanese Traditional Medicine. It also provides a variety of other services in Mental Health, Community Health and conducts various outreach programmes. The hospital also provides specialist camp-based community services that are a part of select national programmes such as the national flagship programme on cancer screening. The hospital also delivers many national public health programmes with vertical reporting to the Ministry of Health.

It serves as a referral point for hospitals in Tsirang, Dagana, Zhemgang, Nganglam and Samdrup Jongkhar. It is a teaching hospital for doc­tors, nurses and technicians under training in various colleges under the KGUMSB.

Overall, the activities of the hospital is a grand orchestra at play with the micro objective of helping individuals, meso objective of serving the patients in the district and the region and the macro-objective of fulfilling the national goals and meeting international standards in healthcare delivery.
