The orthopedic unit consists of:

  • 2 orthopedic surgeons
  • 2 orthopedic technicians

Services

  • OPD consultations are for all types of musculoskeletal disorders and injuries and trauma.
  • Fractures and trauma
  • Bone and joint infection
  • Malunions and nonunion of limb fractures
  • Sports injuries
  • Geriatric conditions like osteoarthritis
  • Orthopedic tumors
  • Pediatric/congenital musculoskeletal diseases
  • Spine disease (infective, degenerative, myogenic, neurogenic etc.)
  • Musculoskeletal diseases range from Myofascial pain syndromes, Osteoarthritis, paediatric orthopaedic conditions to name a few common ones.
  • All muscle and bone and joints related aches and pains
  • Interdepartmental consultation and OPD consultation from district.
  • All types of emergency soft tissue surgery including repair of injured tendons, blood vessels and nerves, drainage of abscesses done.
  • Appropriate surgeries to treat open fractures and dislocations (Closed or Open reductions) are also met within the specified “golden hour”
  • All types of fracture surgery (Internal or External Fixation) in adults and paediatric group except spine and pelvic fractures are done
  • Basic plastic and reconstructive surgeries are also performed, such as skin grafting, flap coverage, deformities.
  • Excision and Histopathological diagnosis of some benign tumors are also accomplished.
  • Surgeries related to tendon and nerve entrapment such as Trigger finger, Cubital/Carpal tunnel syndromes performed.
  • All musculoskeletal/limb injuries (fractures, tendon injuries, dislocations) requiring surgery
  • Soft tissue condition of limbs (contractures, congenital deformity) requiring hospital admission and operative treatment
  • Treatment of Infections of bone and joint
  • District Attachment training of orthopedic technician trainees from FNPH
  • Triamcinolone injection for various orthopedic conditions
  • PRP injections for joints and limbs
  • Dry needling therapy for skeletal muscles
  • Splinting/ casting of fractures and musculoskeletal injuries
  • Fracture reduction under hematoma block
  • Intra-articular joint injections under C arm guidance (Hip)


  • 12 beds allotted in the surgical ward
  • Preoperative and postoperative management of both elective and emergency cases
