Today, the Central Regional Referral Hospital (CRRH) observed the inaugural Traditional Medicine Day with solemnity and joy. The celebration began in the morning with a ceremonial offering of 𝑀𝑎𝑟𝑚𝑒 (butter lamps) and 𝑇𝑠𝑜𝑔 𝐶ℎ𝑜𝑒(ritual offerings) by the Hospital Lama at the altar of 𝑆𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑦𝑒 𝑀𝑒𝑛𝑙ℎ𝑎(the Medicine Buddha), symbolizing prayers for the health and wellbeing of all sentient beings.
The event was later held at the Traditional Medicine Unit and highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting traditional medicine. Speaking at the event, the Medical Superintendent called on everyone to take shared responsibility in delivering holistic healthcare services rooted in compassion and spiritual values — a commitment that aligns with the broader vision of Gelephu Mindfulness City.
