Today, the Central Regional Referral Hospital successfully hosted a Nutrition Exhibition coordinated as part of the Nutrition and Dietetics module by second-year nursing students, Royal Thimphu College. The exhibition aimed to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical applications while educating the public on essential aspects of nutrition and health.
Key thematic areas of the exhibition included therapeutic diets, the impact of cooking methods on health, complementary feeding practices, and nutritional assessment using the ABCD (Anthropometric, Biochemical, Clinical, and Dietary) method. Students also demonstrated growth monitoring techniques, provided insights into lifestyle-related diseases, and shared evidence-based dietary interventions.
Additionally, holistic approaches to health promotion, particularly in addressing non-communicable diseases (NCDs), were highlighted through interactive displays and public interaction sessions.
