The first-ever Cleft Lip and Palate (CLP) Surgery Camp, conducted by the Bhutanese Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) Team from JDWNRH, which began on 9 December 2024 concluded yesterday on 14 December 2024. The camp was held in collaboration with the Dental Unit and ENT Unit of CRRH.
Over the six days of the camp, 16 patients were screened for Cleft Lip and Palate. Of these, six underwent surgery, one received a scar revision surgery, and one had a mandible fracture treated. Additionally, six CLP patients were provided with tele-consultation services. The team also provided services to several general cases that required oral surgery expertise. The surgeries covered a wide age range, including infants, children, adolescents, teenagers, and adults.
According to the team, both the patients and their parents expressed satisfaction with the services provided.
