The Psychiatry Unit from CRRH, supported by The Pema Secretariat, visited seven hospitals and PHCs under Dagana, Tsirang, and Zhemgang Dzongkhags to strengthen access and continuity of mental health care services. The community mental health visits aimed to review and follow up existing cases, provide psychiatric assessment, and identify new cases in line with the National Health Plan’s priority to enhance access to quality mental health services through a collaborative, whole-of-society approach involving individuals, families, and communities.

‎A total of 88 consultations were conducted, and three cases were referred to CRRH for further specialized assessment and care. During the visit, the team reviewed follow-up patients on psychotropic medication, conducted comprehensive psychiatric assessments for new cases, attended to institutional referrals, adjusted medications based on treatment response, and coordinated with local health staff and counselors to ensure continued follow-up and community-based support.
