𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐑𝐑𝐇, 𝐆𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐮

Home-Based Palliative Care services at CRRH, Gelephu were initiated in December 2024 to improve the quality of life for patients with chronic, debilitating illnesses requiring end-of-life care.

‎Through a holistic approach, a multidisciplinary team—Medical Officer, Nurse, Health Assistant, Physiotherapist, Pharmacist, and Drungtsho—supports patients and their families by addressing medical, psychological, spiritual, and practical needs, while empowering families with basic caregiving skills.

‎Services include medication refills, physiotherapy, nursing care (wound dressing, NG tube insertion, urinary catheterisation, tracheostomy care, and blood sample collection), as well as traditional medicine (acupuncture), spiritual therapy, and bereavement support.

‎Home visits are conducted every Thursday, with flexibility based on patient needs.

‎A total of 80 patients in Sarpang are currently enrolled in the home-based palliative care services.
