โCRRH conducted CLASS 3 of its Continuing Professional Development (CPD) series on 25 February 2026.
โThe session was delivered by Dr. Choten Gyeltshen, Psychiatrist, who spoke about Conversion Disorder โ a condition in which emotional or psychological stress appears as physical symptoms such as weakness, difficulty walking, loss of sensation, or seizure-like episodes, even though no neurological disease is found.
โDr. Choten highlighted the following key points:
โ1. Recognizing different physical symptoms, including movement problems, sensory changes, and seizure-like episodes that are not caused by epilepsy.
โ2. Carefully distinguishing this condition from epilepsy and other disorders affecting the brain and nervous system.
โ3. Identifying stress related to personal, family, or work issues while ruling out medical causes.
โ4. The importance of counselling approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
โ5. Early recognition and support lead to better recovery and outcomes.
โThe CLASS CPD series is conducted in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend both in person and online.
