‎Observing the World Glaucoma Week (08 March -14 March 2026), the Department of Ophthalmology at CRRH conducted an awareness session on 09 March 2026.

‎Glaucoma, a leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide, often referred to as the “silent thief of sight.”

‎‎The session emphasized the importance of early detection, regular eye check-ups, and timely treatment to prevent vision loss. Information on the symptoms, risk factors, and treatment options for glaucoma was also shared with the participants.

‎Moreover, detailed eye screenings, including intraocular pressure measurement and optic nerve evaluation, will be provided throughout the week to encourage early diagnosis and timely management of the disease.

‎Through this initiative, the hospital reaffirmed its commitment to promoting eye health in the community and emphasized that regular eye examinations are essential in preventing avoidable blindness from glaucoma.
