A successful ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) Continuum of Care (CoC) camp was held at CRRH from December 23 to December 28, 2024. The initiative was designed to provide essential ENT services to both students and the general public.
During the camp, a total of 499 students underwent comprehensive evaluations, including audiological testing and physical examinations. Of these, following thorough assessment, 20 patients successfully underwent surgery during the camp.
In addition to the student screenings, 65 individuals received hearing assessments, and five individuals were fitted with hearing aids as part of an ongoing effort to address hearing-related issues in the region.
The ENT team reported no adverse events or complications throughout the duration of the camp. This was attributed to the teamโs meticulous preparation and strict adherence to medical protocols, ensuring the smooth operation of the initiative.
The camp not only addressed a wide range of health issues but also raised awareness about the importance of ear, nose, and throat health. Future initiatives are expected to build on the success of this camp, ensuring continued access to vital healthcare services across Bhutan.
The publicโs response to the camp has been overwhelmingly positive, underscoring the importance of such health outreach programs, particularly in rural and regional areas.
CRRH extends its congratulations to the ENT team lead by the ENT surgeons from JDWNRH and Phuentsholing General Hospital and the ENT unit staff of the hospital for the successful completion of the camp and their commitment to improving public health.
